How Vendorbase Works
When an end-user searches Vendorbase and clicks on a product listing
to get seller contact information, the vendor is charged a small
fee. Sellers are not charged if the end-users' search returns
their inventory and the user does not click through to the seller's
information. Contact us for more
information on pay-per-click charges. Sellers can use the powerful
reporting tools to review the number of clicks they have received and
have been charged for, as well as the number of times their inventory
was returned in a search. These tools also allow sellers to set a
maximum daily budget.

How to List Inventory on Vendorbase
SUMMARY: The following describes how to list your parts on
Vendorbase. It assumes you are currently listing parts on Tradeloop.
For instructions on how to list on Tradeloop please visit
http://www.tradeloop.com/parts/ or contact Tradeloop customer
service.
ENABLING YOUR ACCOUNT
To enable your account to sell on Vendorbase you must agree to the
listing requirements and terms of our service agreement. The
requirements are stricter than Tradeloop because Vendorbase is geared
towards end-users. The significant differences are: - Vendorbase parts
must have a retail price that is no less than 5% above the wholesale
price - Vendorbase parts must be updated every three days To view the
full requirements and to enable your account, please visit:
http://www.tradeloop.com/apply/
HOW TO POST PARTS ON VENDORBASE
Once your account is enabled, you can list your parts on Vendorbase by
including a retail price. - UPLOAD: Simply add a "retail_price" column
to the file you upload to Tradeloop in the following format: part,
description, wholesale_price, qty, manufacturer, condition,
retail_price - ONLINE: On Tradeloop, visit the "My Items" tab. Under
"Inventory" where you have the option to "add" or "edit" your parts,
you will see an option to enter retail prices.
TO AUTOMATICALLY LIST ON VENDORBASE WITH A PRE-SET MARKUP
Parts with wholesale prices can appear on Vendorbase with a pre-set
markup. Go the Tradeloop "My Items" tab. Click "Vendorbase Listing
Options". On this page you will see "Automatic Markup" which is set by
default to "not enabled". Set this anywhere from 5% to 250% and this
markup will automatically be added to your Tradeloop parts for
Vendorbase. - OVERRIDE: You can override the markup on any specific
part by entering a retail price for that part as described above. The
entered price can be more or less than your pre-set markup, but may
not be lower than 5%.
HOW TO LIST PARTS ON TRADELOOP BUT NOT VENDORBASE
Do not include a retail price, or include a retail price of 0 (zero).
The parts will not appear on Vendorbase.
HOW TO LIST PARTS ON VENDORBASE BUT NOT TRADELOOP
Insert a wholesale price of 0 (zero) to have your parts not appear on
Tradeloop. If you insert nothing for wholesale price (insert a null
value) then the item will display on Tradeloop without a price. You
must insert a 0 (zero) to stop the listing from appearing on Tradeloop
completely. The item will still appear in your account and on
Vendorbase if you enter a retail price.
HOW TO AUTOMATICALLY MARKUP PARTS FOR VENDORBASE WITHOUT DISPLAYING
ON TRADELOOP
Once you've set the automatic markup per the instructions above, you
can set Tradeloop to not display the prices. On Tradeloop under the
"My Items" there is a choice to "Display my prices on the Trading
Floor". Choose "no" and your wholesale prices will not appear on
Tradeloop, but will be marked up to appear on Vendorbase, and will
still be visible to your account.
HOW TO SAVE YOUR PARTS BUT NOT HAVE THEM APPEAR ANYWHERE
If you insert a 0 (zero) for wholesale price and a 0 (zero) or null
for retail price, the parts will not appear anywhere except in your
account. Another way to do this is to insert a quantity of 0 (zero)
which prevents all parts from listing.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR VB REDIRECT URL
When a visitor to Vendorbase selects your part to purchase, they will
either be sent to your Vendorbase profile or to a URL of your
choosing. To select the VB Redirect URL, go to the "My Items" tab.
Choose "VB Listing Options". The default choice for "VB Redirect" is
"my profile". Enter a valid URL instead. Relevant variables will be
passed on the URL to your shopping cart, so your website can complete
the transaction. Contact your Tradeloop Account Manager for further
details.
HOW TO SET YOUR PPC BUDGET
Set your daily PPC budget on the "PPC report" located under the "Vendorbase"
link on top of the site, or in the "VB Listing Options" under the "My
Items" tab.
HOW TO MANAGE YOUR HOT OFFERS
You can list up to 20 "hot offers" for premium placement on the
Vendorbase site. Click the "My Items" tab then click "VB Listing
Options". You'll see a link to "Manage Hot Offers" which allows you to
add, edit, and delete your hot offers.
REASONS YOUR PARTS WON'T APPEAR ON VENDORBASE
- Your account is not enabled to sell on Vendorbase
- You didn't list a retail price
- Any retail price listed is less than 5% above the wholesale price
- You part is over three days old
- You entered a quantity of 0 (zero)
- You have exceeded your daily PPC budget
- Recent changes may take up to 30 minutes to appear on Vendorbase
Please don't hesitate to contact your account manager if you need
help to buy or sell your computer or computer parts to our end users!
