In partnership with the Minnesota State Correctional Facility in Stillwater, Minnesota Computers for Schools, a 501(c)(3) non-profit company, employs and trains inmates to refurbish and recycle computers donated from businesses. Data is scrubbed from the computer, in compliance with the Department of Defense standards, in a secure building by staff before the equipment arrives inside the prison.
The refurbished computers are sold to schools and educational nonprofits for a nominal fee. Each computer is customized for the school’s needs and comes with a warranty and tech support. |
