Suitable for multiple applications involving GbE within enterprise and service provider network infrastructures, this SNMP-manageable iMcV-Gigabit module converts 1000Base-T twisted pair signals to 1000Base-SX or 1000Base-LX fiber optics. iMcV-Gigabit can be used in conjunction with fiber-based Gigabit switches to connect the network to existing Category 5e copper-based switches or to connect selected power users without having to pull fiber to the desktop. This module provides a single 1.25Gbps conversion between copper and 850 nm multi-mode fiber and installs in any iMediaCenter chassis.
