A dual port, resilient ATM Uplink Module for the Madge Smart Ringswitch product family which integrates existing Token Ring networks with high capacity ATM backbones using ATM Forum compliant LAN Emulation. Token Ring networks are adding ATM backbones to provide high bandwidth inter-switch connectivity, to host high performance servers and as a stepping-stone to the multiservice networks of the future. The ATM uplink module for the Smart Ringswitch product family brings this migration opportunity to networks based on the industry-leading backbone Token Ringswitch family Smart Ringswitch, Smart Ringswitch Plus and Smart Ringswitch Express.
